I have tried to copy the layout the same. My green pallet truck is clearly not critical to the image but I do like “industrial warehouse” vibe/pictures. I just randomly grab a couple of pieces. Put them on a board and then take the picture with an iPhone (not even a new iPhone, according to my kids it is “ancient”).
However we operate a low cost no frills marketing strategy. If we add cost and frills who has to pay for it? Our customers of course and that does not seem fair!!
Many of our customers are large builders who have been with us since the recession of 2008. This business model of saving money to pass onto customers will never suit everyone. Some people like to pay more for the exact same product. In this case it’s usually 100% more.
Imagine this operated in any other industry. I am sure there are better analogies but let’s take Gasoline as one for now. At one gas station which is it does not have a store offering candy or cold drinks and its $4.00 a Gallon for Premium, it’s clean and very efficient.
Down the street within eye distance is a really shiny Gas station with loads of lights calling to you. It has beautiful pictures of cars. Pictures of happy smiling people. You step out of your car onto a red carpet. The shop is “Wow!!” it’s pristine it looks perfect but the gas is $8.00 a Gallon for Premium the exact same Gasoline.
You may go to the Gas station offering $8.00 gas for a look. You can also ask questions as they have people standing around waiting to talk you through the reason for $8.00 Gas. They pour you a coffee, sit you down. There is no difference it is the exact same grade. You would thank them for their time but you are not really going to pay twice the amount…… are you???
18×18″ Bardiglio Nuvolato Gray marble Bardiglio is 18×18″ Bardiglio Gray marble. It is from Italy. The fancy schmancy high end boutique tile store with expensive photography and stunning showroom (they do look very nice) is still selling the exact same marble. It is not made in a factory. It is quarried from the same Italian region, probably the exact same quarry. Just in order to pay for all the frills they have to charge you twice the price. Someone has to pay for their extravagance, this is not the federal government, they cannot just print more money.
The high price business model simply has to hope that the consumer cannot do any research. Please feel free to order a sample. Take it into one of the high price retailers and ask them why is this $16 and you are $33. At the very least I hope they fight for your business with a discount.
(I used Gasoline prices as an Analogy if anyone can think of a better one please let me know)
