What a great way to start 2017!
Looking to see how white based Carrara Venato is….. then this Instagram post really shows it. Using the Venato 6×12″ Honed ($8.00/SF) and (my personal favorite) the 1×3″ Herringbone Honed ($11.45/SF).
Love the way Instagram allows people to show where they purchased the products. This Instagram post is by Studio_O_Interiors you can see the feed here.
Prices are valid at the time of this post… apparently we have to put this notation, that way in 30 years if someone finds this post and gas is $20 a gallon we are not stuck with a low price 🙂
Used in this picture Carrara Venato 1×3″ Herringbone Polished $11.45 a Sq. Ft. for the flooring (grout creates enough COF/Grip to make it safe and polished can be used). Along with 4×12″ Carrara Venato on the wall for $8.00 a Square Foot. $15,000 from a traditional tile and stone retailer, about $4,000 from us. A great save! Who wants to pay more. Not sure any one ever walked into Target or a Publix or any Grocery store and wrote out a check for $11,000 saying “You did not charge me enough” so why pay more for the same product from the same mountain?
Taken from Instagram here. I love the way people can tell others where the products used came from. It is great when designers take the plunge and buy online from us. Carrara Venato especially the 1×3″ Herringbone they have purchased with 4×12″ on the wall is one of my favorite looks. Love the look of the longer subway tile.
You can see how perfect and white the Carrara Venato is, in fact if you go back through the room scenes or click the Carrara Venato link you can see this product which is exclusive and a Trademark owned by The Builder Depot, sold for over a decade has been consistent in appearance since the beginning. It is this consistency that we look for in this collection. It is not by accident we hand select the blocks to create this exceptional look.

Bianco Carrara 18×18″ Honed available online for $9.95 a Square Foot and in Polished. Along with other field tile sizes, mosaics and trims as part of a matching collection. We are the only Google Trusted Store in the World that sells a matching collection of marble online.
I like these “Real” pictures. This is actually a picture from Italy. This 18×18″ has yet to ship. It is ‘C’ Grade which is the highest grade of Italian Marble. It has a light Gray base and darker veining. Venato Carrara has the whitest base. Whiter than a Calacatta. That is why we have the two collections.
Pietra Carrara is like Venato. But we have mixed in more Gray tiles to create more contrast. We also wanted to try and create a small collection that we could order in massive bulk to get the cost down for a certain sector of the US market.
To get a really good look at the differences I recommend the room scene page which shows customers pictures and bloggers pictures.
We are the only collection selling Google Trusted store in the World. (As of November 2016) Becoming a Google Trusted Store is Free. Google is the #1. Google can investigate your company the best. If you are not a Google Trusted Store and in the Natural Stone business why not? There is a reason. If you advertise on Google you pay less by being a Google Trusted Store. There is even incentives to becoming a Google Trusted Store. I would not buy online from a company that was not pre-qualified by Google and their team.
I would also look for various other things in an online website that we tried to outline on Houzz.com.
Carrara Pietra 3×6″ for $7.00 a Square Foot and 2″ Hexagon Honed for $9.75 a Square Foot and Free Shipping. We added Carrara Pietra because of consumer comments. The Venato is white really white. Some customers wanted more variation from Tile to Tile. So that is what we created. While it is slight you can tell the difference with the Carrara Venato picture below.
Carrara Venato the base is more consistent the variation from tile to tile is reduced. It will never be an exact science as it is natural stone. But as the only company in the world to offer this almost obsessive compulsive disorder with white marble, we are trying to create looks segmented into the style and design the customer is looking for. Or at the very least give them a better chance.
To best achieve the exact look you want is “Over order“. Then you can discard tiles. Remove tiles that are not fitting the look you are going for. You are creating a picture with this stone. It is unique. Every tile is a “one of a kind”. The bathroom walls you end up with will be what you create. Moving tiles around. For Carrara Pietra this means making sure the dark tiles are not collected in one section, it is definitely a more ‘hands on collection’. All Marble is. But you can see the variation in the top picture, if all the darker tiles were in a “clump” it would not have the same effect it would look pretty ugly. As it is well spread out it looks incredible and for $7.00 a Square Foot along with Free Shipping a great deal.

Gloss Arabesque Tile available on a Mesh for $10.95 a Square Foot & Free Shipping for 2016.
Beveled Whisper White Arabesque in Gloss and Matte has been available on the market for some time. However TheBuilderDepot.com was the first company in the world to offer the product on a mesh.
It is our job as a business to think further than the sale of the product but also the ease of installation. Which we hope lowers the overall cost. It should be quicker to install and time is money. We look for value in every part of a products journey, value all the way through the chain even to the completion of the entire project.
Then we decided to remove the bevel. Offer a simply flat version. It creates a simple sophisticated look as you see in the room scene above. The larger format Arabesque is an amazing replacement for 3×6″ Subway Tile as there are eight pieces to a Square Foot very much in the same way as there are eight pieces to a Square Foot of 3×6″. The traditional backsplash product.
Not content with offering our customers with a completely new arabesque product with a Gloss finish and putting it on a mesh to reduce installation costs we also added it in a Matte finish (or honed). The Builder Depot has the largest Arabesque collection available in the world here. We just love Arabesque. The shape, the design it is just so unique.
Dark grout creates more of a Challenge to work with as you have to be quicker on the clean up. However installed by a professional creates and I think you would agree quite a different look by simply changing the grout color.
Nero Marquina Honed Hexagon $11.45 a Square Foot and also available in Polished a 3″ and a 5″ Hexagon as part of our Nero Marquina Collection. We do like the look of the Honed.
The advantage of the Spanish black marble over the China Black is it is just more subtle with the veining. China Black looks like someone took a white marker to a black tile. Whereas the original Spanish Nero Marquina black marble has a more elegant timeless look. It has just the right amount of veining. Prices valid thru 2016.
Most likely your installer will not believe you can buy Nero Marquina 2″ Hexagon for $11.45 a Square Foot or ‘C’ Grade Italian Marble 6×12″ Honed or Polished for $8.00 a Square Foot. You could also ask him if he understands what “vertical integration of a supply chain means?” If he gives you a blank look…… then that would justify his skepticism. As he or she has been buying the same way for most likely decades and to find out now he could have been paying 50% or more less is a crushing blow.
The third review by one of our customers explains it best. If that fails (or the hundreds of other Google Trusted Store reviews) we have a video for the installer to watch. Here. Many of our customers installers turn into wonderful long term new accounts.

More and more room scenes are uploaded to Instagram today. Here you can see our Bianco Carrara 4×12″ honed for $8.00 a Square Foot the design for this backsplash it is from lvebdesign and you should see the work on her blog and Instagram page just incredible. Working with marble is not easy you have to look through and sort before installing not just box to box. A designers eye to create the perfect picture is clearly a strength.
Also perfect “C” Grade Italian Marble is also a plus 🙂
Here is the completed work with our Bianco Carrara 4×12″ from the Bianco Carrara Collection a choice of over 80 Field Tiles, Mosaics and Trims that we match up before shipping in 1-2 Business Days. A wonderful functional kitchen.
I love the detail you can get into on Instagram. Here is a professional designer identifying where the products come from. It is so incredibly helpful. Technology and the speed at which it is moving to help consumers save and add value to their homes (and not just giving it to huge corporations that leave the money overseas and pay no tax) amazes us! It is great news to regular people that want to upgrade, enjoy the upgrade and know they have added value to their home and not lost it in the pockets of a massive Government size Corporation with so much waste.
(Now completely off the point, so you do not have to read) How is that small businesses have to pay taxes, huge multi-nationals pay zero. No tax at all. They could at least pay something, anything, just a tiny bit towards our schools, our roads (who is not sick of being stuck in traffic) for the future. Make a donation, then you know it is not wasted by Washington. This is madness (have to take it with a pinch of salt as it is the media reporting, but no taxes paid by all these huge companies they simply merge with overseas entities). Apologies this is a design website….. not a political website. But I think the system is a little broken, the USA should not have the highest corporate tax rate in the Western Hemisphere then this would probably not be happening. (At least can we agree that?) It is Capital Flight. Same occurred when France increased their tax rate and London lowered theirs, everyone just relocated.
It is timeless. Bianco 1″ Hexagon for $11.25 a Square Foot Honed (also in polished) and Bianco Carrara 3×6″ Subway Tile $7.50 a Square Foot Honed (also available in polished and other formats like 3×8″ or 4×12″ as part of the Bianco Carrara Collection of over 80 Field Tiles, Mosaics and Trims).
Classic Timeless and from a Boutique retailer about $8,000 from The Builder Depot about $2,000 that would including shipping (this is just the product, find an installer to do the work for a few thousand – a good one and you have just added instant value to your home!)
A design that will never age. When you come to sell your home. This will be a huge sales feature you enjoy it while you live there and you made money 🙂
